It's mushroom season, everyone! And what better way to celebrate autumn than with our new Earth Boss plant! This big mushroom boy has been in the works for a while now! 🍄 

Check out these great concept sketches from our game artist Annika!

While we love each and every one of the sketches, we decided to go with this beautiful mushroom: 

The mechanics of growing this mushroom are already in place and we can't wait to show you more soon! Did you know that this big guy is super allergic to witches? 🤧

On top of that, we have some great news to share with you! Our friends at Gentle Troll Entertainment have launched their Kickstarter for Tavern Talk! 🍹

"Tavern Talk is a cozy visual novel about running a tavern in a D&D-inspired fantasy! Gather rumors, serve magical drinks, and meet adventurers on a life-changing quest."

Hello everyone! It's been a while since the last update, so I hope you're doing well! We are working hard on several aspects of Grimoire Groves! 💜

The Ocean Library in the Water Biome is taking shape! This is also where you can meet the mysterious mobile library, Henry! I wonder what books and stories are archived here!

Beri, the Cerberus! 🔥

You might remember our other NPC that we unlocked during the Kickstarter! 

Her full name is Berea, which comes from "bearer of victory," but her friends can call her Beri. This is her, fully animated and ready to be integrated into the game! We're really excited for players to meet her in the Fire Biome!

#Grimoiretober just started (+ Giveaway)! 🎨

As some of you on our Discord may know, we have created our own Inktober prompt list with the help of our Discord community. Each participant will automatically enter a raffle when posting artwork in our Discord server. We will select 5 people to win a Steam Key for the game Calico at the end of October! 🤩

These keys were provided by Kells during the Kickstarter phase and now we can give them away! 😺

Hey everyone! 👋

It's been a while and the whole team got a bit of rest after the super exciting Kickstarter month. But now we are back and we do have some great new things for all of you!

Some of you already have been asking about this, and now we're finally there: If you backed Grimoire Groves on Kickstarter, you will get a survey in the next few days. So for everyone who got a reward tier with an exclusive Discord role, items with options such as the T-Shirt, or even a super special customized reward such as portraits and villager NPC designs: Everything you need to get your perfect reward will be in that survey. So make sure not to miss it!

New Demo On Steam Available Now 😍

We also have been busy to work on the game and - besides working towards the release - also improve it based on your feedback!

One issue that came up a lot in y'all's feedback was how hard it was to select and equip spells. We took that feedback to heart and tried to come up with a better solution asap! Now, the Witch Wi-Fi has a brand-new interface, complete with fancy visuals and a new way to equip spells. We are super thrilled for you to try it out and tell us what you think!

Our second highlight of the new demo is a new feature: Some plants will now hug you to get some tasty elemental energy. We felt like the plants stunning you if you stay close for too long did not feel 100% aligned with the cozy spirit of the game, and losing control of your character can also feel stressful and overwhelming. We think that the cute little critters hugging you to get more of your witch magic and thereby slowing you down a bit not only is closer to Grimoire Grove's DNA, but also is more fun. Of course, some plants like our prickly rolling Castarocks still have the capability to stun you for a bit, but it's not the default for every plant anymore. As with our first point, we would love to hear what you think about it!

some of our fellow Swiss game developers have just launched a Kickstarter and demo for their game Plank Builders.

Plank Builders is a super cute game about toys, building stuff with wood planks, and bringing stuffed animals to life! Together with cute toy monkeys, you can plan and construct different buildings. Find all the monkeys and help them to come alive too!

Our Magical Kickstarter Journey Came to an End 🪄

... and it truly is a happy ending!

With the help of 1521 backers we reached a total of €72,711! We are absolutely speechless and we wanna thank all of you for supporting Grimoire Groves! 💖 To say it in the words of our four elemental spirits:

Together we made a big splash, making this campaign a huge success 💦

We promise that we are doing everything to create a rock-solid game 🪨

and burning with passion to bring all these amazing features you unlocked to the game 🔥

Speaking of unlocked stretch goals...

Today we also reached the €70'000 stretch goal! Which means we will be able to create 20 additional cool boons to enhance the spells in the game. How exciting! The boons are one of our favorite parts and since it's also a great way for all players to personalize the game towards their own preferred playstyle, we are extremely happy that we get to create even more of them thanks to your help!

What will happen next?🤔

So you probably are already wondering what will happen next! Well, we hope if it's ok if we will rest for some days first 🙏This last month was super exciting and invigorating, but we also worked a lot of weekends and nights to create the best possible campaign and also to be there for all of you, to answer all your questions and chat with you on our Discord. So the whole team hopefully deserves some days off to enjoy the summer and to regenerate 😊

But don't worry, you will hear from us again very soon! After Kickstarter is done processing all the pledges, all of you will get mail from us 💌 You will get a survey about your rewards; so everyone who got personalized items will get to talk to us about their wishes and everyone who got a t-shirts will be able to chose their color and size!
